Wells joined Barrett Asset Management in 2006. In February 2021, Wells was appointed as an Executive Partner of the firm and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is currently responsible for the overall leadership and management of the firm, with a focus on the financial oversight of the firm and continues to oversee the investment research expertise and capabilities of the Investment Committee as Director of Research. Wells continues to serve clients as a Portfolio Manager and is a co-manager for the firm’s two mutual funds.

Before joining Barrett, Wells was a Research Analyst at Haven Capital, a New York‐based investment firm, where he also supported institutional and private client relationships. Prior to that, he was with Prudential Securities, where he assisted in the coverage of companies in the industrial and financial service sectors. Before this, he worked at HSBC Securities Services UK and was based in London, where he was involved in equity research. Wells began his investment career at Oppenheimer Capital, following Asian equities.

Wells holds a BA from Princeton University with a major in Political Economy, received his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a member of the CFA Institute. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and their three children.

Graeme joined Barrett Asset Management as a Partner in 2017. In February 2021, Graeme was named as an Executive Partner and is currently responsible for the overall leadership and management of the firm, with a focus on client experience and strategic initiatives, and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Graeme brings deep experience, insight and strategic vision to the cultivation of client relationships and the growth of the firm. She serves as an advocate for wealth creators and their families, specializing in collaborating with multi‐generational family relationships and their trusted advisors to create tailored wealth solutions. In addition to serving as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and managing client portfolios, she is a Portfolio Manager.

Before joining Barrett, Graeme was Senior Vice President and Director of Wealth Management at Inverness Counsel, where she was responsible for private client relationships, was a member of the Investment Committee and developed strategic client programs for the high-net-worth, such as next‐generation education, philanthropic initiatives and trusts and estate planning. Additionally, she served as trustee and officer for many clients’ family trusts and foundations. Prior to Inverness, Graeme worked as a Registered Sales Associate at UBS/Paine Webber. Previous to that, she was an Associate at Strategic Capital Resources, where she worked closely with entrepreneurs in early‐ stage financing and business plan development.

Graeme has been recognized numerous times by the wealth management industry for her depth of knowledge, expertise and passion, including having been selected by Private Asset Management as one of “The 50 Most Influential Women in Private Wealth.”

Graeme holds a BS in Business with a concentration in International Affairs from Skidmore College and an MBA, with a concentration in Finance, from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certificant, a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Financial Planning Association. Additionally, Graeme completed training with the philanthropy consultancy 21/64 in the Virtual Approach. She serves on the Board of Trustees of her alma mater, Skidmore College, as well as a public charity that focuses on youth and entrepreneurship. Graeme is a passionate advocate for financial literacy and entrepreneurship for youth and wealth creators. Graeme lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her family. She enjoys travel, athletics, music and visiting Maine, where she grew up.

John G. Youngman

Managing Director

John joined Barrett Asset Management in 2010 and is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager. His expertise includes the design and implementation of customized investment strategies that utilize equities, fixed income, options and futures. John leads the firm’s Enhanced Equity Income Strategy and is a co‐manager for one ofthe firm’s mutual funds. John also serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of one of the firm’s mutual funds.

In addition to John’s other roles and responsibilities, he is an appointed member of the firm’s Executive Committee as of May 2021. The Executive Committee is responsible for overseeing day to day affairs of the company, and to perform other duties as assigned by the Board.

Before joining Barrett, he was a Managing Director and CFO at Griffin Asset Management where, across a tenure spanning fifteen years, he forged a reputation as a financial problem solver for clients. He began his career as a Registered Representative at Kidder, Peabody & Co., where he spent four years working with high‐net‐worth individuals, families and institutions to deliver investment advice.

Among his other interests is the development of investment strategies specifically geared toward the long‐term care of individuals with special needs.

John holds a BA in English, with a concentration in Economics and Investments from Middlebury College. He lives in New Canaan, CT with his wife and their two daughters.
